Not much of interest for me to post about right now so I thought I’d fill out that 11 random things about me meme that has been going around. I don't think I've ever told most of my friends list this stuff before so maybe it'll be more interesting than my crochet ramblings lately.

1)Cross stitch used to be my major hobby before cosplay. I actually even went to a couple of needlework conventions back then, long before my first anime con!

2)“Lady of the Thread” comes from the name of a cross stitch piece I did many years ago and won one of my first needlework awards for.

3)During junior high, I took guitar and piano lessons but was terrible at both and gave up after a couple of years. XD;

4)I’ve been on the stage at both Avery Fisher Hall (at Lincoln Center) and Radio City Music Hall. (for high school and college graduations; I already said I have no musical talent! :-P)

5)I’ve also been on the trading floor of the NY Stock Exchange. Ironically, this was before I ever started business school. My high school economics teacher had a chance to take a few students to the stock exchange and I was one of the ones picked.

6)I originally got accepted to NYU as an accounting major but ended up double majoring in marketing and finance. Still hated it even though I graduated with honors. >_>

7)I studied part time at Parsons and got a fashion design certificate there.

8)Out of all fandoms, my largest collection is my Nancy Drew stuff. I have over 100 of the books, including a few vintage volumes, reprints of the 1930s editions, and some of the graphic novels. I have nearly all of the computer games, too.

9)Many years ago, I had the weird idea to crochet a pair of angel wings. If I recall correctly, they had little pearls worked into them, too. This was before I got into cosplay. XD;

10)Also before I got into cosplay, I liked sewing costumey things and made 3 random cloaks. I haven’t made a single cape/cloak since I started cosplaying though!

11)All of my costumes have been made on relatively simple Kenmore sewing machines and I’ve never had a serger. Until early last year, I used my mother’s old machine which was the cheapest and most basic Kenmore model. I have a somewhat fancier one now.

Thanks. :-) I know I didn't throw them out so the wings are still here somewhere, probably stuck in a closet.

Ooh, I didn't even realize a few of the paperbacks got reprinted in hardcover. It's been a long time since I really bought any of the books although I still enjoy rereading one once in a while and playing the computer games. ^_^; Might have to look into those volumes sometime. I think I've heard most of the paperbacks are out of print now and there are a few of the early ones which I don't think I ever read.

Yeah, the paperbacks are out of print, except maybe some of the most recent ones. I love the really early ones! ^^ I definitely recommend them, if there's any you haven't read.
