Ayame Progress

I did some touchups on my Ayame wig earlier and put it into a ponytail. I thought I would take a progress picture with my wig and the shirt but after I put the stuff on and was ready to take pics, it was time for dinner. And since I was too lazy to put everything back on after dinner, everyone just gets to see my wig on the wighead and the shirt on a hanger. :-P

Here’s the wig. I tried it on and don’t completely like the way it looks tied back like this. I think the wig looks better on me when it’s loose so I might just wear it loose (other than for craftsmanship judging), considering this was the only outfit where he ever had it in a ponytail. Long white hair in a ponytail brings to mind Abel from Trinity Blood rather than Ayame… ^_^;;



To repeat from last time I posted a progress pic of this, I’m really glad most of this thing is going to be hidden under the coat that I still have to make!

that turne dout lovely. And I like Ayas hair back, it stops it from getting caught in things. ALso, congrats on the new sewing machine. It sounds very useful! ^^

Thanks. :-) I suppose that's true about the hair but I mostly prefer the wig loose since my head is on the large side and my wigs often don't cover the hairline along sides of my head that well. It drives me nuts when you can see bits of my real hair stick out from under my wig in photos, especially if it's a light colored wig. -_-;

And yes, the new sewing machine is quite useful! ^_^

I have the same problem with light coloured wigs. I've taken to buying white wig caps to go under them and some cheap white face paint to white out all along my hairline. It makes my white and silver wigs look decent but for some reason I still look horrible as a blond. My skin tone just doesn't work with yellows I guess.

Hmm... I don't particularly have a problem with my wig caps showing, it just tends to be those hairs in front of my ears. I've started shaving them off whenever I'm planning to wear a light wig but sometimes, a bit still shows. -_-;

The shirt is coming along very well! ^^ Now it reminds me of a really soft, robelike thing. XD

And I love the wig! It does look different, tied back, but nice! ^^

Thanks. ^_^ Yes, the wig was from Cosworx and it's a Linda XXL. I got it when I did my first Ayame costume about a year and a half ago and had to straighten it (was originally wavy) since it was the longest white wig they carried at the time. I cut the bangs into it too since it didn't have any.

I LOVE the colour of it +_+! Cosworx is expensive, but if its for a character you love and know you'll do him / her / it again, its worth the investment!
