My brother appears to have broken my sewing machine. -_-X He came up here, complaining it was too noisy and put stuff under the machine to try to muffle the sound. It should have been okay if that was all he did but he decided to step on the pedal afterwards when there wasn’t any fabric there to sew. And now, the thread from the bobbin won’t come up. I’ve opened it up to see if there’s thread tangled somewhere but only found dust and don’t see anything obvious.

I’m annoyed because if this hadn’t happened, I should have been able to finish the machine sewing on my Ayame shirt today. All I had left to do was hem the edges of the skirt part and attach it to the rest of the shirt. Bah. *goes off to post on forums instead*

. . . You gotta be kidding?! Oh man, I would be soooo livid. Kinda makes me glad I'm living on my own, and my boyfriend wouldn't ever do something that insane. Sewing machines aren't THAT noisy, either.

Fortunately, it was just a really old and inexpensive machine and my parents said we could buy a new one this weekend.

Yeah, it's not really that noisy but my brother is just ridiculous like that and even used to complain about noise from me walking around on the floor above. -_-;

I tried resetting the knobs like you suggested but the needle still isn't bringing the bobbin thread up and the top thread is getting tangled in the machine when I try. :-( My mother who used to be a seamstress looked at it, too, and she couldn't get it to work either. So, we're planning to buy a new machine over the weekend. This one was 20 years old!
