Holiday wishes...

Not much exciting has been going on here since the last update. I’m trying to clear off my drafting desk in the living room since it’s been buried under junk for a long time. And unfortunately, there’s probably as much stuff under the table since it’s where I kept sticking excess beads and things of that kind. ^_^;;
Something I forgot to mention last time was that I decided to go ahead and book a room for Anime Boston since it would be simple to cancel if I can’t work out travel arrangements. Not sure if my brother would go. I asked and he said he’s interested but not sure what his schedule would be then.
And now for the holiday wishes thing…
STEP ONE
Make a post (public, friends-locked, filtered... whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related to medium to really big. The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
If you wish for real life things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ.
STEP TWO
Surf around your friends list to see who has posted their list. If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You don't have spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
Okay, before I start… I’m pretty well off and can buy many of the things I want on my own. So, I tried to do a list of all non-material things but I ran out of ideas towards the end. ^_^;; I don’t really expect anyone here to spend money on me; the last few things on the list are just there to fill space because I couldn’t think of anything else.
1. That my family would actually be enthusiastic about Christmas for a change. Every year, I seem to get roped into helping put up the tree and wrap lots of presents but it seems like it’s all for show. It’s like pulling teeth getting everyone to open their presents! I’d really like that to change but I’m not too optimistic. -_-;
2. Other cosplayers to take pictures with, especially for those rarely cosplayed series. Although I love some of the photos I’ve gotten this year, mostly solo shots gets a bit boring after a while. ^_^;; I was happy to get a chance for Twelve Kingdoms group pictures at Otakon with
hikaruchan and
the_masayume but would love some for Petshop of Horrors. And Kaleido Star, after I make a Sora costume.
3. For
astarel7’s forum to show signs of life again although it seems hopeless. *sigh* Pretty much all of my roleplaying friends there have drifted off and don’t seem interested in talking anymore. ;_;
4. Improvements on some of my cosplay icons by someone who knows better than me what they’re doing in Photoshop. ^_^; Both of my Twelve Kingdoms ones were from photos my father took on my camera so basically they were just transferred to my computer and cropped. Renrin isn’t too bad but I think my face looks a bit odd in the Youka one because it’s so dark. Removal of the twig sticking out in front of my sleeve would be nice, too.
5. Some good anime suggestions since I’m looking for new stuff to watch. I tend to like shojo but not stuff overly focused on romance. Not really a fan of sci-fi or action; sword fights are cool but shootouts, explosions, and the like do little for me. Some favorites are The Twelve Kingdoms, Kaleido Star, and Fruits Basket.
6. Cast recording suggestions might be nice, too. It’s been so long since I’ve bought any Broadway CDs and probably about time I got some new music. My interests list gives an idea of what musicals I already like.
7. Some good recipes to try out, especially stuff that will go well with rice. My father is always complaining at dinner that my mother never cooks anything new but my siblings tend to be picky eaters and coming up with new dishes can be tricky.
8. A little mouse cell phone dangle like the one Ayame has on his phone in the Fruits Basket manga. I think it would be fun to have when I cosplay him. ^_^ But if it exists as a piece of merchandise for the series, I’ve yet to see it!
9. The Juuni Kokki anime guide. The white outfit on the cover is the Youko costume I want to make someday.
10. A Cosworx gift certificate. They’re very handy for helping pay for wigs!
