Well, I decided I’ll try to sew myself a new dress for the wedding I’m supposed to go to next month. The bride is Chinese, a daughter of my father’s adopted brother. And I bought a few yards of pretty blue Chinese brocade at the Rag Shop the other week when I had a 40% off coupon…
So, I’ve decided I might as well make a Chinese dress that can double as an original costume for Count D. He changes clothes so often in the manga that there isn’t really a definitive costume for him. I’m going to use a style that’s similar to some of his outfits but not worry about matching patterns. I figure, this way I’ll get more use out of the garment than if I made a regular party dress since I probably spend more time at cons than at fancy parties. ^_^; If I just made a random evening gown, it’d probably just hang in my closet until the next wedding, whenever that turns out to be.
