"Masquerade, paper faces on parade..."
Jun. 3rd, 2006 03:01 pmFinally got signed up for the AnimeNext masquerade a bit earlier after putting on my nyosen costume this morning and trying to figure out what to do. I really have to remember not to throw my arm backwards over my head while in this costume because I knock into my hair extension that way. *has never had a costume where the hairstyle added to her height before* ^_^;; I’ve also figured out that I should tilt my face down slightly to make the hair loops more visible; looking up tends to make them disappear behind my head like they did in a lot of photos from the cherry blossom festival.
I’ve gotten sleeves made (had to draft my own pattern piece to try to match the outer layer) and attached to the lining I found the other night. I’m working on handsewing it into my Ayame coat now. After that, there’s still a few little things to wrap up for AnimeNext. Then, I should be able to get back to the real challenge which will be getting my Terra dress made in time for Otakon.
And meanwhile, I’ve got to go make sure I have a white shirt to wear with my pink suit for the wedding reception I’m going to tonight with my parents.
