A long but fun day...

I got the vampire costume finished on Friday, just in time for photos and the cosplay party.

Woke up at 6:45 yesterday morning so I could get into costume and meet ngmaster at 10 for a photo shoot of it in Central Park. Fortunately, it stopped raining by then although it was still dreary most of the time. The sun came out a bit towards the end so I guess it’s lucky D isn’t a real vampire!

Afterwards, we took the subway downtown and talked about future con/travel plans before going different ways. I went by my family’s store to change into normal clothes and relax for a few hours before getting back into costume and heading to the Krazy party.

The party itself turned out to be more costume contest than anything else o_o but I still had fun. To me, the best part was finally finding friends and chatting for the half hour or so after the contest since I hadn’t seen most people since NYAF. Sorry that I took a bit to recognize some people and forgot some stuff; by that point, I think my brain was just fried from the long day. ^_^;;; Saw blackmarth, leisemelody, neoangelwink, ryoko, sakuralenayuy, umister, usa_ko, vampricyoda, and wildhorseranma.

The other fun moment that sticks out in my mind was going up to the judges’ table during the contest and wishing them a “good evening” with a fanged smile. No silly vampirish accent though. :-P

The vampire costume was fun to wear since it was different than the costumes I typically make. Never really expected to make a cape full of holes and a dress with so many buckles. o_O Having fangs was fun too although I mostly just wore them for a few photos and the contest since neither pair I had fit that well. (The small ones were a bit too small to fit one of my teeth really well and the larger ones were so big it was hard to close my mouth comfortably.) The cape hid the messy parts but I’m still not satisfied with my construction on the black robe so maybe I’ll remake it after the summer when things are less hectic. (And when I'm less likely to boil in all that black velvet. ^_^;)

Ah, I don't think I ever had the fangs in when I talked to you. XD; I put them in at the beginning but then took them out a bit later because one was loose and only put them back in for the contest.
