Filing cabinets and goodbye anonymous comments

Well, I’ve been working a bit on organizing and I now have a pair of wooden filing cabinets for my sewing room. Ordered them from Staples last week (on sale, too) and my father and brother assembled them over the weekend. ^_^ I’m using them for my needlework magazines and patterns; I’ve had the charts in hanging files in a box in my room for years but wanted something nicer now that I have the sewing room.

And… not likely to affect anyone reading but I’ve had to disable anonymous commenting on my journal since I kept getting spam on old random entries; it looked like bits from a story on a farm but with words jumbled up so that it was incoherent. I got about a dozen of these over the last 2-3 days. -_-X I already had screening on anonymous comments due to a few cases of spam in the past but it was rare and I never got this much within a couple of days. Having to delete that many and the notifications filling my e-mail box was just starting to annoy me. >_<

I’ve had a couple of friends from other sites use the anonymous option and sign their messages before they got LJ accounts; I did that too with a friend’s journal before I signed up for my account a few years ago. Other than the occasional piece of spam, I’ve never had problems with leaving anonymous comments open so I didn’t want to have to do this. But all the spam the last few days was just getting too annoying. >_<

I had done that beofre I started an LJ whe nI was on a different blog site, though I thankfully never got any spam.

By the way do you want some VIRAGRA? Or a PENIS PUMP?

Ha ha. :-P That was just the kind of thing that made me switch anonymous comments to screened several months ago.

Well *wipes brow* It doesn't affect me, since I don't leave anon. comments... though my internet's been a bit wonky this past week so I'm just glad I can leave a comment! *throws things at the cable company*

On a lighter note, I'm hard at work on your present almost, but not quite to the exclusion of everything else. The plotbunnies took a bit to get kickstarted, but now they have commenced to hopping! Looks like it will be a bit longer than anticipated. (Wordcount's nearing 10 K) Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. As soon as it's ready, I'll post it for you.

Hope your internet connection straightens out soon.

Wow. Nearly 10K? O_O; I wasn’t expecting something that long! Sorry if the prompts I gave you to choose from were sort of difficult. ^_^;; But I look forward to reading it! ^_^

What a great organizational idea! I'll have to remember that when I have more space for my sewing supplies.

That stinks that you've been bombarded by spam. I can never figure out why some people bother leaving it (unless it's a bot), especially the type where they're not trying to sell anything.

Ah, I actually got the filing cabinet idea from some other cross stitchers years ago. It works well for things like leaflets and other thin books. ^_^

Yeah, I figure it must be a bot but even then, it seems kind of pointless to set one up to spam people if it's not even advertising.
