Worst way to find a dead mouse = putting your hand down on it. -_-;

Some of the stuff in the living room had been shifted around the past couple of weeks since we had new windows put in. So, today, I was searching through the clutter under the drafting desk for a bag of jewelry findings. I moved some stuff around, put my hand down on the floor without looking and screamed when I felt a dead rodent instead of wooden floorboards. My Yuki plushie might be cute but I do not like real mice at all. >_<

I guess this is my week for running into gross stuff. I finally got around to unpacking the last of my things from AnimeNext a few days ago and found my Ayame shoes were all covered with mildew. O_O; Ack! I’d used a pair of Chinese cloth shoes as my base so my guess is they had gotten damp when I walked on the lawn at the con and that’s what caused them to get moldy. Fortunately, they seemed to be okay after a washing.

I started getting the files back in order and updated but I’ve been sidetracked by my parents wanting me to research mutual funds so I’m still not caught up there. Will probably be working more on that this weekend and maybe, I’ll start on a beading project if I can find all the supplies around the house. Since I’m not at Otakon and not a Harry Potter fan either. :-P

*points to icon* Oh, and I made a new Ayame icon to replace my old, depressed looking one. XD; It's probably about time I've updated my icons since I still have room for a few and haven't changed the default one since I made the journal but I'm not sure what I want.

Ick! How traumatizing! Finding dead things by mistake is definitely not a pleasant experience.

Good luck with your projects!

Well, it wasn't that traumatizing but touching a dead mouse by accident was definitely disgusting. Ick.

Ick! I don't know what would be more unnerving, finding a freshly dead mouse or a mouse that's been dead for quite some time.
And I was wondering (I don't mean any offense by this, but feel free to tell me off if it does offend), are you Taiwanese? You have such a lovely complexion and skin tone! Just curious...

Nope, I'm not Taiwanese. I seem to inspire a variety of guesses about ancestry; I've heard Japanese, Korean, and Thai before. *laugh*

My parents came from China originally (they're Cantonese) but I was born in NY and have always lived here. I seem to be a good bit paler than anyone else in the family though so I suppose that's handy for cosplaying Count D!

Heh, cool! Do you speak any of the Cantonese dialect?

Only a tiny bit because my mother doesn't really speak English. I'm not very good at it. ^_^;

Ick! @___@ How disgusting. I'm with you, I just can't stand mice. They carry enough disease as it is when they're alive, and they get into everything. -__-;

Mildew is definitely unpleasant as well. @__@ Glad the shoes seem to be okay now! I remember once finding mold all over lots of my puzzle and game boxes because they were by an outside wall. -.-

XD Ditto on not being a Potter fan. I do have a casual interest in knowing how things end, though.

I like the new Ayame icon! ^___^

Thanks! ^_^

It's kind of odd. I love fantasy type designs in needlework but have never been much interested in that genre of fiction. Since then, I've found some fantasy anime and manga that I like but I still have no interest in Western fantasy novels. I've never read a single Harry Potter book or seen any of the movies. XD;

Well at least you're not finding decapitated baby rabbits in your garage every morning. My siamese has been hunting again. I mean honestly, they're almost as big as her, yet she insists on dragging them back to show us. ><

Beautiful icon, I luv all your aya pics!

Eep! Okay, that sounds much more gross than a single dead mouse. O_O;

And thanks! ^_^

I wish there was a way we could get her to stop hunting when she goes out, but bells on her collar don't work, she's learned to walk without them ringing.

Yeah, if I had a cat that kept killing little animals, I'd be kind of disturbed, too. My family has never had pets other than goldfish though (kind of ironic considering I cosplay D and so many other characters associated with animals!) so I haven't got any ideas on what else you could try. :-/
