Ayame’s shirt is done! ^_^ And I’ve found another reason to like the new sewing machine: automatic buttonholes. There's a foot where you can put in one of your buttons and move the needle to your starting point and it'll make the exact size buttonhole you need for that button. After you get the settings set up and the needle in the right place, you just have to step on the pedal and it sews the whole thing on its own. *_* I couldn't manage buttonholes neatly on the old machine so I always used to do them by hand. I can stitch very neat ones by hand but they’re tedious to do so this is a nice timesaver for small buttons (it works with buttons up to 1 inch). ^_^
The manual had directions for sewing on buttons using the machine, too, and I was going to try it but I found it too hard to get the button into a good position under the sewing machine foot. So, I decided that would be easier to do by hand and stitched them on the normal way instead.
