Meme taken from [livejournal.com profile] athena8:

You are The Empress

Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.

The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents,
beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home
decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.

The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

That pretty much sounds like it fits me. I certainly like to create things! And the convention/cosplay meme that I've been seeing all over:

1. How did you find out about anime conventions?
online

2. What and where was your first convention?
Big Apple Anime Fest in 2003

3. How old were you at your first convention?
22

4. Did you cosplay at your first convention, and if so, as whom?
no

5. How many conventions have you attended presently?
BAAF 2003, AnimeNext 2003-2006, Otakon 2006, NYCC 2006, OnnaFest, MangaNext *counts* 9 so far…

6. What was your favorite convention and why?
Hmm… I don’t really have a specific favorite.

7. List all your cosplays that you've cosplayed in the past (that you can remember) and tell which one is your favorite.
Seto Kaiba (Yu-Gi-Oh), Lili (Zodiac P.I.), a humanoid version of a Blue-Eyes White Dragon (Yu-Gi-Oh), Renrin (The Twelve Kingdoms), Tohru (Fruits Basket), Namine (Kingdom Hearts), Ayame (Fruits Basket), Youka (The Twelve Kingdoms), Terra (Final Fantasy VI), 2 outfits for Count D (Petshop of Horrors)

It’s hard to pick a favorite since I like several of them a lot for various reasons. But if we were going by how often the costume has been worn, Ayame would win because I’ve worn it for 3 cons plus Halloween and a cherry blossom festival. It’s not too plain but not really complicated to wear, unlike most of my other elaborate costumes.

8. If you have a dream convention that you want to attend, what is it?
Don’t really have a dream convention although I think it might be cool to go to a West Coast con. Not that likely to ever happen though since I won’t fly. ^_^;

9. Do you attend convention events, such as panels, karaoke, etc.?
I go to panels sometimes if the topic interests me. I’ve never been to a karaoke event and skip concerts and dances since I’m not really into music. I try to attend cosplay related events though.

10. Have you ever entered a masquerade? And if so as who and did you win?
Only a couple as a walk-on entry. I mostly stick to hall contests since I lack performing skills. ^_^;

AnimeNext 2005- Renrin from The Twelve Kingdoms, won Best Journeyman Craftsmanship
AnimeNext 2006- Youka from The Twelve Kingdoms, won Best Journeyman Craftsmanship

11. Do you buy anything in the dealer's room? If so, what do you buy?
Sometimes but not much. DVDs and manga. Plushies and artbooks, if they exist for the series I like.

12. Do you buy anything in the artist alley? If so, what do you buy?
usually not

13. What is the longest distance you've traveled to get to a convention either by plane or car?
New York to Baltimore by car this year for Otakon

14. Have you met your favorite English voice actor?
don’t have a favorite; not much into voice actors

15. Do you generally go to conventions with friends? Or your special someone? Or both?
My brother. But he usually goes off with his friends so I wander alone most of the time.

16. Have you met a special someone at a convention and then hooked up there, or after?
Nope

17. Do you regret going to any specific convention? And if so, why?
Well, some have turned out a bit boring but I don’t really regret going.

18. What conventions do you have planned for next year?
New York Comic Con and AnimeNext. Not sure about anything else.

19. Have you made your dream costume yet? If so, who/what is it?
Hmm… I don’t really have a dream costume.

20. Do you go by your forum name/pen name/nickname at cons?
I tend to go by Lady of the Thread since I’m used to it. I don’t think that many people know my real name and it’s rather common and undistinctive anyway. Plus, I’m awful at remembering to introduce myself and ask people’s names when I get into conversations at cons. ._.;

21. Do you have a convention that's on your birthday?
Hmm… *goes to check a con schedule* Ani-Magic was this year.

22. What is your current favorite anime/manga? Have you cosplayed it yet?
The Twelve Kingdoms and Kaleido Star for anime, Petshop of Horrors for manga. Cosplayed all except for Kaleido Star which I intend to do next year.

23. Do you make your own costumes, thrift them, or get them commissioned, etc?
I make my costumes although I’ll pull pieces from my wardrobe or buy if one of the articles needed is something simple like a pair of plain black pants. I figure my time is better spent making garments that I can’t easily walk into a store and buy.

24. Do you have any retired costumes? If any, why are they retired?
Well, I never officially said it’s retired but I doubt I’ll ever wear my BEWD outfit again. All the satin in the sleeves is a pain to iron and I’ve made so many better costumes since then.

25. What costumes do you have planned for next year? Or if there are a lot of them, what series?
Another manga outfit for Ayame, a Sora costume from Kaleido Star, and another Count D

26. Did you like this meme?
kind of long but it was sort of interesting reading others’ answers

27. Are you bored out of your mind because you're not at a con?
No, sewing costumes and other crafting endeavors tend to keep me entertained between cons.

28. When is your next con?
NY Comic Con in February

29. Have you started any of your costumes for your next con?
Actually, I’m not planning to make anything new for NYCC. I’m just planning to go for a day and will wear one of my existing costumes, depending on what I feel like.

30. Anything else I should know about you?
I hate drama and always try to stay out of it. And I tend to be much more quiet in real life, so if I seem shy at cons, I’m not trying to be unfriendly or anything. ^_^;
