Yes, it’s American dollars. Wow, that sounds expensive for fabric. o_o; I actually don’t use real silk for my costumes; all of my brocades are synthetics like rayon and polyester. I can usually find a selection of them in the NYC fashion district for about $7 a yard. I’m a great fan of being able to make a nice costume without spending hundreds of dollars and rarely buy fabric over $10/yard. ^_^; I did have to buy $30/yard brocade once though because I just couldn’t find another close to the color I needed!

Ah, I’m actually planning to take a couple of months off from sewing new costumes although I’ll probably try to make a T-Chan plushie soon. I did buy some fabric that I intend to use for a simple outfit from the vacation chapter, the one D was wearing when he seemed to have amnesia and Chris was going around teaching him the names of things again. (That part amuses me so much, especially him calling Leon a “drunk.” *laugh*) I’m not in a hurry to do it though since I’ve already made two Count D outfits in a row; it’ll just be something to work on when I want to sew something simple for a change. The two big projects I’m planning for next year are actually a Fruits Basket manga outfit for Ayame and a Kaleido Star costume. I’d like to get at least one of those made before I seriously consider another elaborate Count D costume.

But I don’t think it should stop you from doing a certain outfit if I’m planning to make it, too. I love seeing variations that aren’t often cosplayed. ^_^ I tend to like making rarely seen costumes but I have no problem with not being the only one. We could be D clones if we ever ran into each other at a convention! XD
