The Neverending Costume

The last few days were kind of tiring since I’d been staying up late to finish up Ryuuren. It is ridiculous how many little pieces there are on that costume! It felt like every time I finished some little thing on the outfit and thought I was almost done, I remembered some other little thing I should do. Yesterday, I was like “Why isn’t this done yet?!” and rushed through a couple of things to get them finished for today’s shoot. I kind of want to remake the tiny crown that goes around his loop of hair with more jewelry-like material since I did it in an hour last night out of gold brocade and I think it looks like it belongs on a stuffed animal. >_>;
And my headdress has to be redone since it got wrecked when I got home. I took it off in the car and didn’t notice it fell on the ground when I got out and my father ran over it with the car so the cream colored fabric is now covered with tire marks. X_X;;; I can salvage the blue headband part that the rest of the headdress was sewn to and my mother offered to wash the dirty parts for me but I think I’d be better off remaking the rest. Unfortunately, I think I only have barely enough fabric to redo those parts and I’d have to include some seams I was trying to avoid. I might try running into the city this week to see if I can find another yard of it but since I got it in the sale room at Paron several weeks ago, I don’t know if they’ll still have any left. -_-;
Bah, I’m going to go take a bubble bath and worry about it later. At least, I don’t have any more cons for this year so I wouldn’t be wearing it again until next year anyway. I've had enough of late night sewing sessions for a while.
