Tea and sewing
Oct. 16th, 2009 10:50 pmToday, I visited my old friend who I had last seen back in August and we finally made it to Alice’s Tea Cup. ^_^ Her boyfriend, who I hadn’t met before, also came along and the three of us had afternoon tea and a nice chat. Had a huge pumpkin scone and tried the birthday tea, which was scented with tropical fruit and flowers. The tea tasted kind of weak although it smelled very fragrant.
Not much else of interest has been going on this past week. I’ve started on both my Halloween costume and the wedding outfit. For Daphne, I’ve gotten the headband covered in lavendar fabric. (Something I’ve noticed is that although her headband is light purple in the show, it often seems to be dark purple on DVD covers. I decided to go with the light purple since that’s what it is most of the time.) Plus, I did most of the sewing on the dress but decided I left too much ease in the hips so I need to take the skirt apart and take it in. For the wedding outfit, I started making a long sleeved jacket in red satin. Still need to find some kind of trim to use to embellish it. If I had more time, I’d be tempted to do beading or something on it since I love embellishing but haven't had a chance to do it on any of my costumes lately. The dress isn't started yet but hopefully that won't take too long since it's just going to be plain.
Only two more weeks until Halloween and the wedding so I need to get in more work on both of these over the weekend. ^_^;; Off to do a bit of sewing!
