Future Con and Costume Plans
Aug. 6th, 2009 10:46 pmI want to wait a few more days before jumping back into costume sewing so I guess this would be a good time to do a post about con and costume plans…
NYAF is the only con I have planned for the rest of this year. After that, I’m not expecting to go to another con until AB 2010 in April so it’ll be another long wait between cons. I also expect to go to AnimeNext and NYAF as usual. I’d like to have one more con for next year but I’m not sure what. Costume Con is too far away since it’s in Milwaukee. Katsucon never works out for me date-wise and I dislike Otakon even more after the mess up with my card still getting charged by the hotel despite my cancelling the reservation before the deadline. -_-X Anyone have suggestions for cons to check out? I won’t fly though so nothing too far away.
As for costumes, I’m thinking I’ll finish up Ekaterina’s disguise outfit from Le Chevalier D’Eon for NYAF. I want to apply for a masquerade walk-on although I’m not sure if it’ll fill up now with the Yume prize. I don’t want to try for it myself since I won’t fly and I don’t have a partner anyway. I really just want a chance to show this costume onstage since I have a fitting music idea and try for a craftsmanship award. It was really intended for Costume Con but it’s not special enough that I want to hold it for two years until I can make it to Costume Con again.
Beyond that, I’m not sure what I’ll be doing for what cons. I rarely have cosplay groups to schedule around so I find myself going a lot by whims on what I’d like to do next after I finish a costume. ^_^;; So, I’ll just put up the costumes I want to do alphabetically by series. I have more Ouran, Gankutsuou, Kaleido Star, Twelve Kingdoms, Petshop of Horrors. Maybes for Ghost Hunt and Le Chevalier plus some random stuff. And if anyone wants to cosplay stuff from any of those series with me, let me know! :-)
