Update and a meme
Feb. 23rd, 2008 04:03 pmBoy, I’ve been lazy about updating lately… ^_^;;
Unfortunately, my grandmother still isn’t completely over the cold I mentioned last time and she has stayed mostly in her room for the past week and a half. :-/ She’s been doing better since she went to the doctor last Saturday but still not completely well and my mother just took her in for another visit a bit earlier.
I’ve been making a little progress on Sarah. Finished sewing the hood and capelet earlier this week but still have to figure out what to do about the few thin curving feathers sticking out of it. I was originally thinking that it’d just tack a few real feathers to the hood. But now, I’m wondering if I should try making those pieces out of wire and scraps of faux fur that I have left. Because real feathers would probably break or get bent more easily and I know I’d get annoyed if I needed to replace them. Meanwhile, I’m working on patterning the dress and maybe, I’ll post progress pics next time.
Got my order from Amazon the other day with the first volume of Petshop of Horrors: Tokyo and the Tsubasa/xxxHolic movies. Tsubasa movie was okay but I just found the xxxHolic movie weird. O_o; Have only read through half of the PSOH volume so far. I noticed though that there was a letter from Taizu to his father before the first chapter which doesn’t exist in the Japanese volume so I assume Tokyopop made it up themselves.
Hmm… And their translation of the notes regarding the side story makes it sound like 3 parts exist. But the fan translation I had seen before gave me the impression that only 2 parts were drawn although it was originally intended to be 3 parts. This is now making me wonder if there was a third part which never got published since there have only been 2 side stories in the Japanese volumes. Maybe, the note for the second side story will explain; I haven’t seen that one translated yet.
Saw this movie meme pop up in a few friends’ entries and thought it looked like fun. I live under a rock when it comes to pop culture though and rarely watch movies so some of these are just from movies that I’ve seen and liked rather than favorites. And several are ones I haven’t seen in years. XD;
