Went shopping on Friday. Got a tank top and a couple of embroidered/beaded skirts, all on sale. ^_^ Most of the day was spent looking for shoes I could wear with my new cheongsam for a relative’s wedding. Even though I didn’t need to get flats, it still seemed hard to find a good pair of dressy pink shoes that weren’t pastel or neon. -_- I didn’t like the style much but ended up buying this pair with weird wedge heels because they were one of my cheaper options and I could actually walk in them. (I don’t think I’d be able to walk in stilettos. ^_^;;)

The wedding was yesterday. A cousin’s son got married and we went to the reception. For some unknown reason, they had a piñata. Not sure where that idea came from; it’s the most random thing I’ve ever seen at a wedding reception. O_o They also had a lion dance, which I have seen a time or two at a reception before. And they showed a music video the groom and his friends made that included footage of him dancing around with pots and pans in his kitchen. *laugh* (He’s a chef and has his own restaurant.) Then instead of a normal wedding cake, there was a tiered stand full of cupcakes.

Would anyone be interested in doing a Petshop of Horrors group sometime? :-D

Since AnimeNext, [livejournal.com profile] heartxofxlilith, [livejournal.com profile] kiwi_lady, and [livejournal.com profile] bloodied_tears have all mentioned that they’ve considered doing costumes from it. Anyone want to actually plan a group for a future con? It was fun joining [livejournal.com profile] novaraven’s PSOH group at AnimeNorth but I’d love to have some people to cosplay with closer to NY; a 10 hour trip to Toronto is just too long to make often. ;_;

I’d be happy with any characters since I’ve seen very little cosplay of the series in the northeast. Pets, D’s relatives, Leon, even another D. (Considering he and his relatives are like clones, I think multiple Ds could be kind of funny! *laugh* Or I could always wear his sister’s dress if someone else wanted to be Count D.)

And what would be a good con for it? I’m only planning to go to local events the rest of the year (MangaNext and NY Anime Festival). Next year, I plan to go to Anime Boston and AnimeNext but I’m not sure what else yet.

Group doesn’t have to be for competition unless everyone wants to do a contest. Not sure how well that would work out though because groups generally get sorted into divisions depending on the person with the highest level. I’d pull a group up to Craftsman level, or Masters if a 4-tier system is used. ^_^;; I know some of you are also up there but I don’t think everyone is.

And not really related but does PSOH cosplay seem to be picking up a bit these days? o_o Browsing around on CosplayLab and cosplay.com, I’ve noticed that 3 other people have done D’s peacock dress since I made mine last fall; I’d come across a few random pictures of people who’d done that outfit in the past but I think they were all from a few years ago. I’ve also seen 3 P-Chans, a T-Chan, and some more Ds on cosplay.com this year. Wonder if it means I’ll have a chance of bumping into other cosplayers from the series more often at cons. ^_^
