New cheongsam ^_^
Jun. 27th, 2007 01:53 amSorry if the preview pics came out kind of scary but the dress for Count D’s sister is done! ^_^;
I’m quite happy with how it came out. ^_^ It’s fully lined and completely made from scratch (nut that I am, I made the pink bias binding and frogs myself, too). The brocade isn’t like any other Chinese brocade I’ve seen before; it has flowers and phoenixes brocaded onto a yellow floral print rather than a solid color. I like the unique look of the overlapping designs and think it’s good for distinguishing the dress from mass produced cheongsams. ^_^
I reversed the part on my Count D wig for his sister’s hair (the style is a mirror image of his) and will be getting a new wig to style for D. I decided to do the Count’s mismatched eyes in reverse, too, based on that mirror image pic which opened the chapter with his sister. They showed much better in high resolution so I used Photoshop to boost the contrast on the eyes only and make the color a bit more obvious on the small version here.

( full length pic of the dress )
Still have to find suitable shoes to wear with this (didn’t have any luck at the mall on Sunday) and buy some pink chiffon to make the shawl that’s supposed to go with the outfit.And figure out who I can force into one of my Count D outfits so we can be twins… XD;
