Moving along...
Mar. 20th, 2007 04:05 pmI got the collar on my Ayame coat done yesterday and it’s finally starting to take shape. ^_^ I still need to do the trim and buttons on the front plus the sleeves. Maybe, I’ll have a progress pic with the next update.
This one feels like it’s taking a good deal longer than my previous Ayame, even with the appliqué and beading on that one. But I suppose it’s partly due to the equipment problems lately. I’ve sewn on this costume with three different machines because the very old one I’d been doing all my costumes on broke and the replacement seemed to be defective after a few weeks. o_o; I’m now on my second iron with this costume, too, because I had a chance to go shopping on Sunday and got a new one after the old one acting haywire last week.
Other than the iron, I also got Vol. 2 of the Paradise Kiss anime (on sale ^_^) and a book, “Hitched” by Carol Higgins Clark. It’s been a while since I’ve gotten any mystery novels so it’ll be nice to have something new to read; I’ve been rereading old stuff lately, like some of the early books from Carolyn G. Hart’s Death on Demand series.
I thought about buying some new clothes, too, since I hardly bought any for over a year and some of my older skirts are much too big around my waist now. But I looked around a bit and nothing really appealed to me.
Also, looked at some furniture with my parents. They’re having some renovations done on the house and want new sofas afterwards. They didn’t seem to find much they liked. They were complaining a lot of sofas were the wrong size for their short legs.
