Nope, the anime never showed the character's corset. Apparently, this is a historical style of lacing. The Simplicity pattern I used instructed to do the eyelets and lacing this way. And yeah, it's kind of impractical. Since I won't have someone to help me dress, I'll probably have to leave my laces long enough so that I can wrap the end around my waist and tie it in the front. ^_^;
